Wayne Olivieri (Wayne O) has been singing since joining the Saint Mary’s Boys Choir of Plainfield, NJ in fourth grade. He grew up singing at church every Sunday and performing concerts with the choir.
After eighth grade, he started his first band and never looked back. He sang in a band all throughout his high school years and at the age of 17 he was playing full time in New York City clubs like CBGB’s, Max’s Kansas City, The Lime Lite, and The Village Gate and played on the same bill as The Ramones, The Talking Heads, and Blondie. He performed up and down the east coast and moved to Asbury, NJ where he performed at legendary clubs like The Stone Pony and The Fast Lane.
He then became good friends with John Bongiovi (Jon Bon Jovi) and they performed many times over the next 17 years. He became a regular performer at The Stone Pony, where he opened and headlined for acts like David Johansson, Huey Lewis, Southside Johnny, Cindy Lauper, Beaver Brown, Rick Derringer and Billy Idol.
Wayne continued to play across Europe and the United States over the years until he decided to take some time off to start a family and raise his daughter. After a long hiatus (and divorce), Wayne is happy to be back writing and recording with new found energy and creativity.
